The "Documentary Reconstructions" program brings together three works that provide insights and reflections through their precise view; they bring to light not only individual facts, but also connections. The expulsion of the Sudeten Germans to a place on the Bavarian-Czech border had a dramatic impact on the lives of Wenzel and Emma.
Even today, the post-war story in Women's Day by Johannes Holzhausen shows its effects: on the one hand, incorrigible nationalism and, on the other, the irony of having to prove one's national identity. In his tried and tested form, Robert Frank presents a new autobiographical work in True Story: The fragmentary self-portrait develops from off-screen commentary, old photographs, film clips of earlier works and his wife's art. The transitions between artistic and private self are fluid. Sexual violence in wars, specifically against women in eastern Congo, is portrayed in One day, at night... by Maria Arlamovsky, the harrowing cruelty of sexual violence in wars, specifically against women in eastern Congo, becomes clear on the basis of protocols from Doctors Without Borders.
