Phil Solomon was a pioneering filmmaker who created works of singular poetic depth, wordlessly mapping the uncanny, conjuring otherworldly beauty, poignant struggle, sentient being - time and space tenderly turned outside in. His internationally acclaimed body of work spanned 45 years and was dedicated to a medium-specific exploration of film as art - a pursuit characteristic of avant-garde tradition.
1954 - 2019
